No doubting who’s the Game of Thrones fan here! This custom aluminum biparting swing estate gate in Fleming Island was a really cool project for us. The Direwolf custom CNC plasma cut designs in the center of each gate were powder coated separately from the gate themselves and attached mechanically after installation. The powder coatings were specialty two tone colors with a “hammered” texture that adds a unique rustic character to the smooth aluminum surfaces. The gates were hung on 1/2″ decorative steel plates with stainless steel embeds for our stainless steel FK rod end bearing hinges. These hinges are fantastic options that are corrosion resistant, adjustable, and sleek.
Due to the size and weight of these gates, we paired them with a set of FAAC Model 400 hydraulic operators. Hydraulics are definitely the way to go when dealing with heavy gates – especially if the design is prone to large wind loads like these gates. All our gate technicians are trained with years of experience and operate under an electrical license to deliver a reliable high end product.
For access controls, we paired the operators with a CellGate Watchman W450 cellular based telephone entry system. We’ve really liked using these recently as we transition to cellular based systems over old outdated pots lines. These units provide streaming video capabilities through their mobile phone app so that the homeowner can view and grant or deny access to incoming vehicles with complete confidence.
