The KP-6840 is a Sentinel-Prox proximity reader combining a PIN pad with a switchplate-style proximity reader for applications requiring dual verification. It provides a 6 to 8-inch read range and is designed for indoor and outdoor applications.
The reader is Wiegand and RS-232 compatible and can be mounted on a standard single-gang electric wall box or directly on an interior or exterior wall. It includes visual and audible feedback through a tri-state LED and Piezo beeper. The electronics are potted with epoxy compound for demanding environmental applications, while keypad output supports 4-bit burst, 8-bit burst, or 26-bit formats.
