The 1838 Access Controller is a multi-door access control system designed for small businesses, office buildings, factories, industrial facilities, apartment complexes, and other applications requiring access control and reporting capabilities. The controller manages up to 3,000 users and controls two doors as standard, with expansion capability for up to 48 access points using wired Tracker Expansion Boards or up to 24 access points using wireless Tracker Expansion Boards. The system supports access by cards, keypads, wireless RF transmitters, and most 26-bit Wiegand devices. DoorKing Remote Call Stations can also be connected to provide communication from an entry point to a designated telephone.
The controller can be programmed through the DKS Cloud Account Manager using any internet-connected browser or with the Remote Account Manager software for Windows. Voice and programming connections are supported through Cellular 4G-LTE, VoIP, or POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service), depending on the installed communication hardware. The system includes an 8,000-event transaction buffer, supports live transaction reporting, and offers 31 security levels, built-in clock and calendar functions, hold-open time zones, holiday scheduling, database import/export capability, and anti-pass back functionality. An optional plug-in programming display is available to simplify local system configuration.
